I think you folks need to realize that just because someone buys a BMW it

doesn't mean that they're going to start packing crap on their bike and

heading to rallies. I've been in that world and now, for the most part, I'm

trying to put it behind me. Going to the same events year after year and

seeing the same people (and usually very nice people) has about as much

adventure as a trip to WalMart. Perhaps the folks that are buying BMW

cruisers have a life outside of BMW motorcycles and have placed the bike in

it's proper place; as a tool to carry you somewhere.

I also don't understand the fixation of so many on this list with high

mileage. Is riding a motorcycle an end in itself? Have you lost the

ability to stop and see stuff? Is a motorcycle no longer a tool to

transport you to places where you get off the bike and look around and see

what there is to see? Because mileage is so easily measured, has it become

the standard for who is the best or most adventurous?

Because someone doesn't make an effort to rapidly wear out their motorcycle

doesnt' make them any less a rider. The BMW riding society needs to welcome

these different types of riders.

Over and out.....
